Why are you getting married on a Friday?
We are getting married at a state park which means that the ceremony will be essentially "open to the public". We will have a set area of the beach, but technically anyone can watch the ceremony. By picking a Friday rather than Saturday hopefully it will be less crowded. We picked a date during the fall for the same reason (oh, and of course the non-wedding season discount).
What should I wear?
The ceremony is on the sand and the reception will be held on a deck overlooking the ocean. While stilettos and 3 piece suits aren't necessary we don't want it to be overly casual. We'd like everyone in resort evening or cocktail attire. Here is an example for women and an example for men. As for any wedding- it's better to be closer to formal than under-dressed.
What's the weather like?
As on 10/31 it is showing 74 degrees for the high and 62 for the low (at 10pm). A jacket is recommended for the evening but we will have a few heaters, some light blankets, and a dance floor to keep us warm.
What's planned for the weekend?
Ideally, we'd like everyone to arrive the evening before the wedding. The cocktail reception starts at 3:00 on Friday and with California traffic you never quite know when you will arrive if you have a morning flight. Nothing is planned for the night before so we can be well rested for the wedding day. After the wedding we will be staying at Pelican Hill and having a Saturday brunch at Tavern House Newport Beach at 11:00 am. Whittney will be off work on Wednesday and Thursday to prepare and greet guests. With the exception of the wedding we don't want anyone feel obligated to do any other activities. If you are visiting we still hope you get a chance to enjoy California!

Can I bring a guest?
If you have questions on how many seats are reserved for you please contact us. As with all weddings or events if you can not make it after you have RSVP'd please let us know or we will still be paying for your drinks and dinner. If you haven't RSVP'd by October 1st we will be calling to confirm your attendance and guest count.
Are kids welcome?
We have a total of 6 flower girls who will be in the wedding and a total of 8 kids currently invited who are family. Please don't bring other children.
Can I request songs?
Yes! Unless it's on the do not play list. Sorry, there will be no "Thinking Out Loud" or "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran.
